亚洲学院简史 / Brief Introduction
亚洲学院的前身是亚非学院（原亚非语系），创建于1961年。2019年9月，亚非学院扩建拆分，亚洲学院正式成立。学院以亚洲语言文学、亚洲地区研究、翻译理论与实践为教学科研专长。目前学院开设朝鲜语、泰语、马来语、土耳其语等24种外语本科课程，2025年新增格鲁吉亚语专业，已备案本科语种共计30种，是全国开设亚洲语种最多、办学历史最悠久的外语院系。2001年教育部批准设立国家非通用语本科人才培养基地，纳入新世纪高等教育改革工程；2007年获批教育部、北京市高校特色专业建设点。 Founded in 1961, the predecessor of School of Asian Studies was the School of Asian and African Languages (originally Department of Asian and African Languages). In September 2019, the former school was split into School of Asian Studies and School of African Studies. The school specializes in Asian Language & Literature, Asian Area Studies and Translation Theory & Practice. It offers 24 undergraduate language majors including Korean, Thai, Malay and Turkish, with Georgian newly added in 2025. Thirty language programs have been filed, making it one of the oldest and largest Asian language schools nationwide. In 2001, the National Training Base for Less Commonly Taught Languages was authorized by MOE; In April 2007, it was designated a Featured Major Construction Site by MOE and Beijing Municipal Education Commission. 学院拥有东南亚、南亚、中国马来、越南、伊朗、柬埔寨、老挝、印度共8个教育部备案国别区域研究中心；另设印尼、韩朝、尼泊尔、斯里兰卡研究中心与诗琳通语言文化学院，主办学术期刊《亚非研究》。 The school operates 8 MOE-registered Country & Regional Research Centers covering Southeast Asia, South Asia, China-Malaysia, Vietnam, Iran, Cambodia, Laos and India. Additional research institutes include Indonesia, ROK-DPRK, Nepal, Sri Lanka Research Centers and Sirindhorn College of Language & Culture. It publishes the academic journal Asian and African Studies.院系专业师资情况 / Faculty & Teaching Staff
学院现有70余名中国籍专任教师，45%为教授、副教授，80%拥有博士学位，覆盖亚洲语言文学、政治学、哲学、法学、历史、艺术多学科。每年聘请20余名外籍专家，常年聘任海内外知名学者担任客座教授；与亚、欧、美20余所高校建立国际合作交流关系。 The school has over 70 full-time Chinese faculty, 45% professors & associate professors and 80% PhD holders, covering Asian linguistics, politics, philosophy, law, history and arts. Around 20 foreign specialists are recruited each year, plus distinguished visiting scholars from global institutes. It maintains academic exchange partnerships with more than 20 universities across Asia, Europe and America.
